I specialize in observation, image analysis, and problem-solving.
I treat AI as one tool among many—not as an end in itself—and apply it to the visualization of structure.
My primary research domain is the material science of geosciences, particularly volcanology.
Quantitative Analysis of Volcanic Rock Texture
Volcanic rocks contain a wealth of information recording the history of magma.
Much of this information, however, has traditionally been extracted through visual inspection and human judgment.
I am interested in quantifying the structures that researchers identify through observation using AI, with the aim of deepening our understanding of eruptive processes.
Building a Human-in-the-Loop Analysis Framework in Geosciences
Expert observation and judgment play a critical role in geosciences.
My goal is to contribute to the advancement of geosciences by developing analytical methods that combine human observational abilities with AI-based automation to support researchers in their work.
Current Projects
-
Development of weakly supervised segmentation techniques for volcanic ejecta texture analysis (ongoing)
-
Volcanological analysis of volcanic ejecta using the above techniques (ongoing)
