Hello! I am Emma, the owner of Yufu Child Farm.
About our place
I opened this small home stay in 2022. Our home stay is in the south part of Japan called Kyushu, Oita, Yufu city.
Our home is located in a rutal area, nestled among rice fields, farms, and mountains.
We have beautiful nature, and beautiful stars at night.
I bought old traditional japanese house in 2021, and renovated it from scratch with local carpenter.
We tried to keep the most of its original structure. For international guests, the unique steps and threshold levels, as well as the traditional paper slliding doors ( Shoji and Fusuma), may feel unfamiliar or take some getting used to. However, we kept these authentic features as they are an essential part of traditional Japanese architecture, and local carpenter says it is difficult to make it again now.
There are no shops, restaurants, or convenience store in walking distance, our house is really in nature!
If you want to experience life in the Japanese countryside, our house is the perfect choice!
To be honest, our homestay is our home.
Our house is not fancy, not luxurious, not stylish.
You will probably get a sense of everyday life here as well.
It must be not as comfortable as a hotel.
But we are living here, and we will do our best to make you feel at home. :)
Digital detox
You might be surprised, but we do not use Wi-Fi here. Because we invite you to disconnect from screens and fully connect with nature.

Kids Welcome!!
We opened here for family with Kids!
When I traveled with my son, I noticed... it was so hard to find "Kids welcome" accommodation.
Even though the accommodation says "Family welcome!", I worried about the other guest, and I worried my son's laud voice and behavior always!
We'd like to help family like us! We warmly welcome family with children!
This is why we accept only one group per day.
And we provide thoughtful support for Kids, so you can enjoy worry-free stay with Kids in our house!

Farm to Table
In our home stay, Children will get hands-on experience harvesting fresh vegetables and preparing meals with the produce they pick.
Through this hands-on journey, they will discover how food grows in fields and makes its way to our dining table.
We also teach them that even uniquely shaped vegetables are delicious, helping them build a deep appreciation for healthy food.
Our harvesting experience includes learning process, so we ask guest to stay here at least 2 nights to feel it deeply.
I recommend this activity for children aged 3 and older. Harvesting requires a bit of strength and patience.
Children will get much more out of the experience when they are old enough to listen to and understand our guidance.

Showing our local life and culture
If you have time during your stay, Let's go to explore local nature spot with us.
We do not go to touristy spot, because guest is safe there, and usually local don't go there.
But if you go to local spot, nobody speak English, and it will be harder to understand and enjoy it like local.
Of course, we have Google in this world now. It is "Possible" to go there without us, it is just a bit different from how local enjoy there.
We are happy to show you our local spot, and we are happy to show you how we play around here,
and we are happy to show you how we live around here as host.

※We will ask guest to drive their car by themselves. We do not have taxi licence.
