弁天様をお祀(まつ)りする祠(ほこら)があり、

航海安全の御利益があるとして漁師を中心に信仰され

近隣の夏山（なっさ）、太地、浦神にも

弁財天として祀られています。

弁財天のお名から商売繁盛や財運が

良くなる御利益があると言われています。

3つの島からなり大きい順に

立島(たてじま)、

船着き(ふなつき)島(じま)、

法師(ほうし)島(じま)です。

潮がよく引く大潮の干潮時には渡ることができ、お参りできます。

春の大潮の頃には、お祭りも開催されます。
