About Wago
The origin of Wago...
Our guest house was named “Wago” with hopes that guests who stay interact and become friends, experiencing once-in-a-lifetime encounters.
For that reason...
Starting from cooking okonomiyaki, we stick together with our guests so that we can all enjoy mealtime and conversations for an experience that’s more than just staying over.
Our passion for okonomiyaki…
Being both from Osaka, we have been making and eating okonomiyaki ourselves since our childhoods. The highlight is always when flipping them over! Whether this is your first time or not, let’s enjoy ourselves and flip!
What made us start a guest house…
I have lived abroad for many years and also traveled as a backpacker to more than 20 cities, mainly in China. My experience of having been blessed with great friends from all over the world made me realize the importance of connecting. That is why we decided to start a guest house with hopes to provide once-in-a-lifetime encounters for guests and for ourselves. We provide service in English, Chinese, Korean and Japanese.
The Kumano-kodo Chikatsuyu area...
I came across and stayed at Chikatsuyu when I walked the Kumano-kodo from Takahara to Hongu during my tour of various places. As a nature lover, I was fascinated by this area. We hope you will enjoy the views of the mountain range in front of you, and even on days when there is morning fog.
