《 川連漆器の歴史 》
川連漆器は、秋田県の南端、湯沢市川連町に受け継がれる伝統工芸品です。
今から約八百年前の鎌倉時代（1193）に、この地の城主だった小野寺重道の弟・道矩が、奥羽山脈の豊富な木材と漆を利用して、家臣の内職として武具に漆を塗らせたのが始まりと言われています。
天然の木をロクロで挽き、漆を使い伝統的な技法を用いて堅牢で実用的な漆器を作りあげております。
～ KAWATSURA-SHIKKI ～
Kawatsura produces handcrafted lacquerware based on a tradition that dates back more than 800 years ago to 1193 during the Kamakura era.
Kawatsura is based in Yuzawa city in Akita prefecture; its origins of longstanding tradition began when Onodera Michinori, the brother of Lord Onodera Shigemichi then ruler of the area, arranged for his vassals to lacquer the clan’s armor as a side job, drawing from abundant timber resources and Japanese sumac trees in the same area.
Kawatsura uses natural wood resources and traditional techniques to produce lacquerware.
